"Neon Seduction" - Settings: ISO 3200, f/1.6, 1/8 sec, 50mm lens

I took this picture on the way home from the wine show after party last night.  The three of us were in the back seat of the taxi – with me, literally smushed against the door to get far enough away to focus.  The closest focusing distance for this lens is one and a half feet, which is difficult to achieve in the back of a taxi… but we made it work.  I’m not exactly sure what was happening at this moment – but it created quite a sexy music video look here – don’t you think?  Pretty rockstar.

Now I’m off to get a haircut, which always stresses me out a little.  When I first moved to NYC I had a hairdresser who rocked. I went to her for a few years and was happily committed, until one day she told me she was pregnant and leaving New York. Crap. Ever since then… probably six years ago… I’ve been bouncing around from hairdresser to hairdresser.  The problem is, hairdressers in NYC are so expensive.  I don’t mind paying a lot if I love my cut – but if I don’t, then I have a hard time going back.

Now, I’m sick of my nomad days, wandering from salon to salon.  I want to be in a committed hairdressing relationship – with a hairdresser who really knows and understands me!  So today, I’m going back for the third time to a girl in my neighborhood.  I loved the first cut she gave me, then I really disliked the second cut (though I never went back to tell her, which was silly), and then she increased her rate.  What’s a girl to do?  Since the first cut was so good – and I think she’s really cool – and she’s in my neighborhood – I’m going to give it another go.  Third time’s a charm?

Wish me luck!
