I took this photo yesterday on 3rd street between Ave. B & C.  I took several shots – changing the shutter speed slightly each time to see how it affected the running water.  I chose this shot, because it shows the motion of the water (with the blurring) – but it also freezes motion to some extent b/c you can see the separate droplets of water over on the right side where the hose connects.  I also thought this was an appropriate selection due to the summer-like weather we had yesterday – nothing says summer in NYC like a fire hydrant sprinkler!

Now we’re off to dinner for Adam’s dad’s 70th birthday celebration!  More to come from the west coast tomorrow.
