"Self Portrait in the Bathroom Mirror" - Settings: ISO 3200, f/5.0, 1/60 sec, 50mm lens

It’s been a while since I’ve played around with self portraits so I decided to have some fun with the bathroom mirror last night! It kind of looks like I’m scared of something (I wasn’t).  I was just looking towards the light to get a nice light reflection in my eyes.  I’ve been studying up on taking head shots recently – and that little glimmer of light in the eyes is very important!  It prevents the subject from looking like they’re dead.  I’m digging the diagonal lines here – and how the line from the tiles is repeated in the camera lens.

Anyway – I’ve been doing a little thinking this week and have decided that I’d like to bring a little order to my daily dish.  Some days – I just don’t have much to say – but I do enjoy (and benefit from) the practice of writing every day.  So here’s what I’m thinking… I’d like to have a couple days each week that are dedicated to certain topics.  Like cheese for instance.  I’d like to start doing one cheese-themed feature each week.  That’ll keep me constantly tasting new cheeses and seriously, I mean… I can talk about cheese forever.  So, starting tomorrow, I now dub Thursday as CHEESE DAY!

I have a couple ideas for some other possible topics, but we’ll start with cheese Thursdays and progress from there.  See you tomorrow!
