So, yesterday I went to the Union Square Whole Foods and then took the 14-D bus home – east across 14th street and down avenue D.  As I got off the bus on Avenue D & 2nd street, I saw this green tarp behind the wire fence – it caught my eye – it looked really cool with the sun shining through it, so I dropped my grocery bags and took a few photos.  After picking up my grocery bags again and walking about 20 feet down the street, I saw this slit in the tarp and freaked out.  I mean – wow…with the sun beaming through, right over that crescent-shaped slit… I thought it was really amazing and beautiful.  It reminds me of the symbol on the Soviet flag – minus the hammer. Right??
